Gang arrested for burying women in Henan village after robbing and raping

SIX suspects believed to have robbed and killed eight people in the past year — after raping most of the victims, who were women — have been caught by police in middle China’s Henan Province, Beijing News reported.

The victims’ bodies were buried in a pit at the home of the suspected gang leader, surnamed Li, in the Banpodian Village of Liangbei Town, Yuzhou, and in the surrounding forest.

Police caught the men on December 12, according to an announcement posted on the website of the Yuzhou municipal government.

Police began investigating after receiving reports from a village man who was robbed at Liangbei Town of Yuzhou on November 17, and Li was caught on December 12. Li had been imprisoned twice for robbery and kidnapping.
