Gang’s secret filming sold to porn sites

A GANG that made money by filming up women’s skirts and selling the videos to pornographic websites has been busted by Beijing police, China Central Television reported yesterday.

Interviewed by CCTV, Dong Ge admitted he had a walking stick with a camera attached to its base which he used to film women at railway stations, on busy streets and at exhibitions.

The only woman in the group, Hui Hui, told CCTV she had a modified cellphone which she left in women’s changing rooms at department stores.

Hei Zi negotiated with websites and would be paid 500 (US$80) to 1,000 yuan for a 10-minute video. There were many buyers for such material, he told CCTV.

Hei and 14 subordinates are in police custody, CCTV reported, while three members of the gang are still at large.

The gang’s activities came to light when a victim contacted the TV station. Zhao Xiaohong said she had become aware there were explicit pictures of her on the Internet.

Police set up a sting operation by posing as sellers of spy cameras on an online forum and Dong Ge was soon hooked.

Later, he introduced the investigator to other gang members and the extent of their activities was revealed.
