Gao given 6 months in jail for drunk driving
GAO Xiaosong, a judge for the hit TV show, China's Got Talent, was sentenced to six months in jail and fined 4,000 yuan (US$614) for drunk driving, a Beijing court ruled today.
The 42-year-old songwriter bowed in apology at the court, wearing a white T-shirt, after hearing the verdict this afternoon, Ifeng.com, a news website portal, reported.
"When wine is in, wit is out. Please draw a lesson from my case. I'm willing to be a volunteer ambassador for action against drunk driving and will do my utmost to compensate the losses," Gao said in a statement.
