Gaopeng accused of selling fake Tissot watches

SWISS-MADE Tissot watches sold on group buying website Gaopeng at unusually low price turned out to be counterfeits, the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce said.
Five of the watches sent to the official dealer of Tissot in Shanghai for verification were fakes. Administration officials also found the dealership certificates offered by three suppliers were either forged or invalid.
People who bought fake Tissot watches have teamed up to take legal action against the website, Beijing News reported today.
Tissot's China subsidiary has reported the case to the police and is helping Gaopeng customers to authenticate their watches.
The Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce hasn't decided how to punish the website as the investigation is still ongoing.
Gaopeng has promised to cooperate with the authority to deal with the case. It promised that those who bought the fake watches would get 200 yuan (US$31.50) in compensation in addition to a full refund.
