Girl among three held over rapes

THREE people, including a grade nine female student and a village official, have been arrested over a series of juvenile rape cases in an eastern China city.
He Guobing, a village director at Bihu Town of Lishui City in Zhejiang Province, was arrested on May 1 for allegedly raping female students in Bihu High School, the China News Service reported yesterday.
State media said at least 10 female students aged from 13 to 16 were raped. Some were infected with venereal diseases and had suffered miscarriages.
Local police also arrested a karaoke club owner, Chen Weijun, and a female student at the school on March 23.
The female student was reported to have helped procure other schoolgirls for Chen.
One of the victims said she was raped by both Chen and He. She said she had contracted a venereal disease and had been told by a doctor she would never be able to conceive.
On February 13, a teacher from Bihu Town received a call for help from a 13-year-old student, saying she had been raped by the club owner. The teacher found the girl and took her to the police.
The girl had been asked to go and play with two of her classmates and they all got into a car belonging to Chen.
He drove them to an isolated area and kept the girl in the car while her two classmates got out. He then raped her in the car, it is alleged.
The mother of the student, who has been arrested, said her daughter had been introduced to Chen by two other classmates in 2007.
Chen, the owner of the Piaoxue KTV club, took her out for meals and drinks at first but later raped the then 13-year-old student in his car, it is alleged. Chen had sex with the girl several times after that and offered her money if she brought other girls to have sex with him, the report said.
The girl then lured another girl to meet Chen, who is said to have raped her in his car. Chen paid her 300 yuan (US$43.83) and the victim 500 yuan, it was reported.
The girl said she had introduced three girls to Chen who paid her about 5,000 yuan including money for an abortion. Chen is said to have told her he had had sex with many girls from the school over seven years.
