Girl suffocates on bus

POLICE detained four people yesterday after a three-year-old girl suffocated on a school bus in Shaodong County, Henan Province, according to China News Service.
The bus arrived at the privately owned Jinbeibei Kindergarten yesterday morning, but the driver and teachers forgot about the girl and left her locked on the bus.
They found her unconscious on the bus when they were about to take the other children home in the afternoon. They rushed her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The local government is investigating the incident and has closed the kindergarten.
Four similar accidents happened in Anhui, Hainan and Hubei provinces in August and September 2011.
The Ministry of Education requires teachers to escort children on school buses.
