'Good luck bullets' not so lucky
BULLETS don't bring good luck a Chongqing woman found when a security officer handed her over to police at an airport in Lanzhou for carrying live ammunition.
When asked why she was carrying the two bullets, the woman, surnamed Xia, told police it was for good luck and to ward off evil.
Xia told the police that she got the two bullets through an illegal channel and always kept them in her bag after a friend had told her about the good luck properties of bullets.
On September 2, Xia was ready to board flight HU7074 of Hainan Airline at Zhongchuan Airport at 5:30pm. When she was going through a routine check, the security officer Chen Qinxia suddenly found two suspicious items in Xia's bag through the x-ray machine.
Chen suspected the two items were bullets and reported it to her supervisor.
Xia was then taken to a police station in the airport after security officers checked that she was not carrying any other prohibited goods.
Xia said she had never thought she would be taken into custody because of the lucky bullets.
Police said Xia regretted her "ridiculous" behavior to carry bullets onto the plane.
Since Xia had no malicious attempt, the police confiscated the bullets and released her to board the plane.
