Government gets tough over hospital security
THOSE who disrupt the daily operation of hospitals will be held legally responsible, according to a joint announcement made by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Security.
No individual or organization will be allowed to disrupt the operation of a medical institution, endanger the life of medical workers or damage hospital properties under any circumstances, the announcement said.
Those who set up a funeral table and placed wreaths or even the body of their relative who died in hospital in public mourning will be punished as well, according to the announcement, the Beijing News reported today.
The ministries also urged hospitals to open hotlines or other channels for patients and their relatives to make complains in a legal manner to settle their medical disputes.
