Guangdong police assistants charged with rape, extortion

THE arrests of three police assistants have been approved on charges of rape and extortion in Yingde, Guangdong Province, People?s Daily reported today.
According to a preliminary investigation, a police assistant surnamed Xie met a prostitute surnamed Li on WeChat in July. In mid-August, Xie and the other two suspects, surnamed Fan and Xu, went to a rented house on Yingcheng Limin Road, wearing their police assistant uniforms and bringing handcuffs. They threatened Li, forced her to have sex with them one after another and extorted 1,500 yuan (US$245) from her, the report said.
The case is under further investigation, the report said.
