Guangxi official probed in nude photo scandal
DISCIPLINARY authorities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southwest China are probing a nude photo scandal involving a local official.
Duan Yizhong, former deputy director of the Guangxi Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau, dismissed the allegations that he had sex with a woman in a hotel room, insisting the naked man in the photos was not him.
An online post accused Duan of flirting with several women since 2000 and attached some intimate photos to prove it. The post soon drew the attention of some high-profile media, the Beijing Times reported today.
"Let's see how this senior official used our tax money to enjoy a lavish and lustful lifestyle," the post said.
"These photos are forged!" Duan claimed. "I don't know the woman in bed and she was apparently drunk. I never went to that hotel!"
Duan was removed from his position in 2009 and was working as an inspector at the bureau, the paper said.
