HK citizen on MH17
A HONG Kong resident was aboard the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, the city’s immigration department said yesterday.
“After verification of the passenger lists, we found that one Hong Kong resident and his or her relative, who held an overseas passport, were involved in the accident,” it said.
Local media claimed the person was a man surnamed Fan, aged about 50, who was traveling with his Malaysian wife. The department, however, said it could not comment for privacy reasons.
Also yesterday, the Hong Kong civil aviation authority said that none of the airlines based in the city fly through Ukrainian airspace.
