HK hotel blaze

A FIRE broke out at a hotel on the Hong Kong Island in the early hours of yesterday morning, leading to the evacuation of around 300 people.

The fire service said a report of the fire at the Harbor Grand Hong Kong in North Point was received at 2:45am. It is suspected that the blaze broke out in a LCD screen on the 38th floor, the roof of the hotel. Some 300 residents and staff were evacuated and the flames extinguished by 6:45am. A woman who felt unwell was taken to hospital.
