Hainan town turns crocodile hunters

A TOWNSHIP government in south China's Hainan Province has urged local villagers to catch, kill and even eat any crocodile they see after 46 crocs escaped from a farm.

So far 10 have been caught, villagers have killed eight, and the other 28 are still at large after they broke out of a crocodile farm in Wanning City's Changfeng Town on October 21, news portal Hinews.cn reported today.

The Changfeng government is offering a 200-yuan (US$29) reward to villagers who catch one of the reptiles because they could spread across a large area, said an official surnamed Wu.
