Harry to hit the screens here

CHINESE mainland audiences will get to see "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," the sixth film in the Harry Potter series, from next Wednesday, July 15.

The film's world premiere was held in Leicester Square, London, on Tuesday. It will be screened in most of Europe from July 15, the same as the Chinese mainland, and in the United States and Japan two days later.

In the movie, the teenage wizard Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) continues studying in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry together with his friends Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson). Harry Potter and Hermione find a strange book with notes from the "half-blood prince" on every page but the book has its own magical powers.

The first Harry Potter film was released in 2001. Five of the books have been made into films by Warner Bros which has made about US$5 billion from the series.

The last in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be filmed in July 2011.
