Hazardous flushing system not found in China

Bathroom fittings producer Flushmate said it is recalling one of its flushing systems sold in the United States and Canada after reports of product bursting, but the defect product is not available in China.
More than 2.3 million units of Flushmate III Pressure-Assist Flushing System were recalled in June after 304 customers reported product bursting that resulted in 14 impact and laceration injuries, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
Flushmate supplies the flushing systems to some leading bath and kitchen fixture producers including Kohler and American Standard.
"The system has not been used on products that are sold in China," said Richard Zhang, a representative of Flushmate China office.
Qiu Jiawen, an employee of Kohler China's marketing department, said the company made an intensive check on its products after the report and found the system has not entered China.
American Standard made similar announcement today.
