CHINA'S health agencies are taking every effort to prevent the spread of plague, Deng Haihua, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said yesterday.
On Monday, the ministry reported that one person in southwest China's Sichuan Province had died of the disease last Friday.
The ministry will inform the public of developments and possible risks, Deng said. Specialists have been despatched to prevent any spread of the disease.
