Heavy snow closes highways, airport in NE China

Heavy snow shut down six highways and an airport on Wednesday morning in northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Taoxian International Airport in the provincial capital of Shenyang  closed at 11:20 am It is expected to reopen at 2 pm. More than 20 flights were delayed and hundreds of passengers were left stranded.

Another four highways in the province were also partially closed due to accessibility issues.

The northern port city of Tianjin also saw its first snow storm of the winter. Six highways in the city were closed on Wednesday morning.
