Hefty reward for clues to court official's death

POLICE in Jilin City, Jilin Province is offering a 200,000-yuan (US$30,786) reward for clues to the murder of a court official killed in a gas cylinder explosion in front of his house.

Zhao Zhongyang, an official with the city's Fengman District People's Court, was removing the cylinder placed in front of his car on the morning of April 14 when it suddenly blew up. He was pronounced dead after police and medics arrived, Xinhua reported today.

Police is looking for any evidence that may lead to the murderer and promised to keep the informer's identity strictly confidential.

The suspect should have access to detonators and have some knowledge of electronic circuit and bomb making, police said.
