High school boy slashes schoolmate’s neck on Christmas
A HIGH school senior whose neck was sliced by another student with a knife yesterday on Christmas Day in southern Shenzhen City is out of danger after treatment at a hospital, Nanfang Metropolis Daily reported today.
The incident happened around 7:40am yesterday when the student was reading a book in a classroom at Shenzhen Guangming New District High School. She was approached by a male student from a nearby classroom.
“Do you have any last words?” he asked her loudly as he rushed forward. He thrust the knife at the girl's neck before she could respond then quickly fled the scene.
Students told police that the boy had said he loved the victim, but had been rejected by her.
The boy surrendered to police after leaving the scene in what police have said appears to be attack motivated by emotions.
