Highway jam-up

THOUSANDS of vehicles were jammed on a national expressway after a road accident in central China's Hunan Province yesterday. A line of vehicles about 6 kilometers long zigzagged through the mountains along an expressway that links Beijing and Zhuhai City in south China's Guangdong Province. Peddlers were profiting from the tie-up by selling fried dough twists, which usually cost less than 1 yuan (15 US cents), for 10 yuan each.
