History’s lessons ‘must be learned’
PREMIER Li Keqiang yesterday urged the Chinese people never to forget their War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
“The future can be inaugurated and peace can be maintained only if lessons from history are kept in mind,” Li said at a joint press briefing with visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel after their talks.
“Facing an all-encompassing war started by Japanese militarists against China, the Chinese people rose up with all their strength to resist,” Li said.
“They resisted for eight years before finally achieving victory in 1945.
“We must always remember history to correctly face up to the past,” he said.
