Ho elected vice chairman of CPPCC
Edmund Ho Hau Wah, former chief executive of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), was elected Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) here Saturday.
He was among the 13 people who on Feb. 28 became new members of the CPPCC National Committee, the top political advisory body.
Ho became chief executive of the Macao SAR in 1999 when China resumed the exercise of sovereignty over Macao, and won the election for a second term in 2004.
Fernando Chui Sai On was sworn in as the chief executive of the Macao SAR in December 2009.
