Home, the hard way...
TWO university students hiked more than 400 kilometers in a week to get home for the holidays.
Jiang Wenlong, 19, a freshman from Central South University of Forestry and Technology, and Zhang Linghui, 20, a freshman from Xiangtan University, safely reached their homes in Lengshuitan District of Sichuan Province's Yongchuan City on Thursday night, yesterday's Changsha Evening News reported.
The two set out on January 21 from Changsha, capital city of central China's Hunan Province, they told the newspaper.
They had planned to cycle home but dropped the idea because of inadequate equipment, Jiang said.
They endured much hardship on the road just as they had expected: rain-soaked sleeping bags, aching feet and cold temperatures in the mountains, according to Jiang.
But they also encountered nice people and beautiful scenery, he added.
