Home-sick girl dies of fasting after mum abandons her

A 10-YEAR-OLD mentally-disabled girl in central China has starved herself to death 19 days after being abandoned by her mother at a center for homeless people.
The girl kept calling her mum and refused to have any food until her life ended, said a worker at the center in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
The child was discovered squatting silently in a corner near the center by a patrol guard at 5am on September 8. The skinny girl wearing a new red jacket and black trousers was apparently deserted because workers at the center found a bundle of clothes with her.
The center employees put her up in a special room for homeless teenagers and tried to feed her food and water, but she resisted with all force, reported Dbw.cn, a Harbin-based website portal, today.
