Hong Kong marks victory over Japan
THE government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region yesterday held a ceremony to mark the 69th anniversary of China’s victory against Japan.
Among other things, the event included a police band and a choir singing the national anthem.
Led by Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying, about 700 people, including senior officials and representatives of a veterans group, attended the event.
The SAR government said earlier that such ceremonies will be held annually on September 3 and December 13.
