CHINA expressed its hope for the stable development of relations with the United States yesterday after reports that Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson would become secretary of state.
“It is in the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples to maintain healthy and stable bilateral relations,” said foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang at a daily press briefing.
China hopes to work with the person to promote bilateral relations for further development no matter who becomes the new secretary of state, he added.
