Hospital hides baby from parents who owed money
TO get a couple pay for the medical treatment of their premature boy, a hospital in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province hid the two-month-old baby in another ward and lied that they had sent the boy to a local orphanage.
Police yesterday ordered the Aipukang Hospital to return the boy to his parents, the local Nanfang Daily reported today.
The boy was born premature through cesarean section on September 13 and was nursed in the Intensive Care Unit due to his poor health.
His parents, Kuang Huihui and Xu Aiqing, are from central Hunan Province and they still owed the hospital about 13,000 yuan (US$2,046) for treatment and nursing costs, the newspaper said.
The two parties are now negotiating for a payment settlement.
