Hu Offers Condolences

CHINESE President Hu Jintao sent a message of condolences yesterday to his Italian counterpart, Giorgio Napolitano, expressing sadness over the heavy loss of life and property in the devastating earthquake that struck central Italy.

Hu expressed condolences to the victims and their families and others affected by the earthquake on behalf of himself and the Chinese government and people.
