Hunan official disappears, owing millions to loan sharks
DISCIPLINARY authorities in central China's Hunan Province are investigating the missing of a deputy director of a local agricultural machinery bureau.
Wang Changhong hasn't showed up for work for several months and no one knows his whereabouts. The agricultural machinery bureau of Chenzhou City even published a notice in a local newspaper, urging Wang to go back to work or face punishment, Hunan TV reported today.
Wang's mother said her son was deeply in debt and she couldn't find Wang either, the report said.
A creditor surnamed Yi told the Hunan TV that Wang owned 3 million to 4 million yuan (US$632,000) to loan sharks.
Wang would be removed from his post and expelled from the Party, said an official with the Organization Department of the CPC Chenzhou Committee.
