Illegal builder kills official
A MAN killed one and injured four, including two policemen, when officials in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region tried to stop him building a house illegally, police said yesterday.
Local land officials tried to stop Wang Dangbing from building the house in Hantai Township in Dongsheng District, Ordos City, about 2:30pm on Friday. Wang refused and hit the official vehicles with bricks.
When police intervened, he stabbed two officers as well as an official from the land and resources bureau of Dongsheng District.
According to police, Wang then ran to the road, attacked a passing car and stabbed two people in the vehicle, one of whom died on the spot.
Wang then stabbed himself in the stomach to try to commit suicide before he was overcome by police. Wang and the four people he wounded were sent to hospital where they were in a stable condition.
Police said Wang had been given prison terms for destroying properties in 2004.
