THE Chinese mainland and Taiwan have reached consensus on most issues concerning individual mainland tourist travel to the island, and individual tourists are expected to be allowed to visit selected places before the end of June, a mainland official said yesterday.
Yang Yi, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said the sides have yet to decide which places will first host mainland individual tourists. Currently, mainlanders can only visit Taiwan in tour groups.
