Inner Mongolia school closed in swine flu scare
A MIDDLE school in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been closed after 41 students developed high temperatures yesterday afternoon.
The city government of Wulanchabu has introduced H1N1 influenza emergency measures, today's China National Radio reported.
The local medical authority has submitted test samples from the students to Inner Mongolia's disease control and prevention center but the results have not yet been announced.
Medical experts were dispatched to the No. 2 Middle School of Wulanchabu Youhou Banner yesterday when the temperatures were reported, a China National Radio report said.
Eleven students running high temperatures were sent to the city hospital designated to observe suspect swine flu patients while others with lower temperatures but showing some flu symptoms were kept in two classrooms for observation. The students were given enough medicine to last them seven days.
