THE mayor of Lanzhou City, Yuan Zhanting is under investigation after it was revealed he owned several expensive watches, including a Vacheron Constantin worth more than 200,000 yuan (US$32,120).
Yuan, 51, told the Oriental Morning Post that Gansu's provincial authorities launched their investigation after Zhou Lubao, a Chinese columnist, wrote about the watches in an online post.
