It's a boy for HK actor-actress duo

HONG Kong actress Cecilia Cheung has given birth to her second child with fellow entertainer Nicholas Tse amidst great media interest.

The 3.49-kilogram boy was delivered via cesarean section at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital in Happy Valley around 8pm on Wednesday with the doting Tse by his wife's side.

"The Tse family's second grandson has been born, a 7.7 pound boy. Both mother and child are fine. I am so happy," said Tse's mother, veteran actress Deborah Lee, to reporters who staked out the hospital for three days.

"Nicholas accompanied her (Cheung) into the delivery room and personally cut the umbilical cord," Lee added.

The golden couple's eldest son Lucas also behaved excitedly over the birth of his younger brother as he answered "Yes" immediately after a question raised by his grandfather, 1950s' heartthrob, Patrick Tse: "Do you like your brother?"

Lucas, two years old, had visited his mother often, accompanied by his father or nanny.

The grandparents held a press conference later Wednesday night and told media they had not yet picked an English given name, despite the Netizen-proposed "Focus" - because the newborn had become the focus of media attention - and the rumored "Marcus."

Tse's family has expressed delight over Cheung's pregnancy and the delivery of the second son, according to Nicholas's younger sister Jennifer.

Nicolas Tse even got Cheung a posh hospital ward that is said to cost HK$20,000 (US$2,570) per day.

The pair got married secretly in the Philippines in 2006 and weathered Cheung's two miscarriages together. They stayed an item even after salacious photos of Cheung with Tse's former best friend, actor Edison Chen, surfaced early 2008.

Cheung's movie credits include "Running on Karma," "Lost in Time" and "One Nite in Mongkok."

Nicholas Tse starred in films like "Invisible Target," "The Beast Stalker" and "Bodyguards and Assassins."

The two both appeared in Chinese director Chen Kaige's fantasy epic "The Promise."
