Jail for mafia gang club boss

THE boss of a nightclub named "Heaven on Earth" in Hunan Province has been jailed for organizing prostitution, drug trafficking and mafia-style activities there.
Yin Jian, 41, was convicted of charges including the illegal possession of firearms, organizing a gang and paying bribes by Hengyang City Intermediate People's Court.
He was sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment and fined 652,000 yuan (US$102,624), China Central Television has reported.
Law enforcement officials were found guilty of taking bribes from Yin to protect his illegal activities. The former deputy chief of Shigu District Public Security Bureau, Chen Xiaoping, was jailed for five years for taking 60,000 yuan in bribes.
And He Guohang, the former director of the local drug squad was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison for receiving bribes of 17,500 yuan.
Police raided "Heaven on Earth" in Hengyang City on October 9, arresting Yin and another 130 suspects. They confiscated 13 guns, 89 rounds of ammunition and large quantities of drugs, the report said.
Yin, a native of Hengyang, amassed a fortune of 21 million yuan through prostitution and drugs, according to the report.
