SEVEN people were jailed yesterday for their part in a telecom fraud that led to the death of a teenager last year. Chen Wenhui was given a life sentence by the Intermediate People’s Court of Linyi in Shandong Province, while his accomplices were sentenced to terms of three to 15 years. Xu Yuyu, a high school student in Linyi, died of cardiac arrest in August 2016 after losing 9,900 yuan (US$1,440) that was for her university tuition.
