According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Chinese applying for individual trips to Japan don't have to prove their occupational and financial status as before.

After the massive earthquake in March, Japan has taken numerous measures to revitalize the country's tourism industry by attracting more tourists from China. Last month, Japan began issuing multiple-entry visas to Chinese travelers.
