Japanese Man Donates New Evidence
SIXTEEN new pieces of evidence were donated to the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre as proof of the cruelty perpetrated by Japanese soldiers in Nanjing during the war.
The items were donated by a Japanese man surnamed Ohigashi. He had previously given the memorial hall more than 1,000 items.
The new evidence included a copy of Japanese newspaper Osaka Mainichi Shinbun dated September 20, 1937. It carried a report of the bombing of Nanjing.
Zhu Chengshan, curator of the memorial hall, said the 13 donated photographs were the most valuable items as they depict scenes of slaughtered Chinese citizens.
