Jet makes safe emergency landing
AN Air Asia plane carrying 148 passengers made an emergency landing yesterday morning at Macau International Airport after the plane's emergency door warning light was falsely activated.
No one was injured in the incident.
Flight No. AK50 took off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yesterday and at about 10am, when the plane was flying into Macau, a warning light was set off, signaling that the aircraft's emergency door was open. The pilot of the Airbus A320 plane then informed Macau International Airport and made an emergency landing.
Air Asia later confirmed that the emergency door of the plane turned out to be securely locked when the plane was in the air and the warning light was falsely activated.
Air Asia has a fleet of 72 aircraft.
