A FINANCE bureau clerk in a county government in southeast Fujian Province has resigned to sooth public anger that her post was designed specially for someone with official connections.
Chen Chen, who easily got the job offer as a bill clerk in Pingnan County Finance Bureau, has been disqualified by authorities in Ningde City, which rules over Pingnan County.
The job requirement matches Chen's profile -- a native female, aged under 25, with a Master's degree in accounting from an overseas college. As a result, there was no need for Chen to take a written test as she had no rivals for the job.
Many netizens said the "ridiculously strict" requirement indicated the bureau had already decided internally hire Chen for the post, China Youth Daily reported today.
