Justice officials fight over personnel issue
TWO judicial bureau leaders in Hengyang, Hunan Province slugged and injured each other at an internal meeting on Monday over personnel arrangement.
Wan Chunsheng, director of Hengyang Justice Bureau, told the Southern Metropolis Daily today that he and his deputy director, Liao Yaozhong, had reconciled and apologized to each other after colleagues mediated.
Liao said that during a meeting with six others, he rejected Wan's suggestion to let a young woman, a local prison employee, to work in the bureau, and quarreled with Wan because he thought it was against the established procedure.
The quarrel soon escalated into a fist fight and both men got injured. Liao claimed that it was Wan who started the fight.
Liao called the police and reported the case to the Hengyang Party Committee, which asked them to pay for each other's medical cost, an insider told the newspaper.
