Keeper of 2 sex slaves jailed
A MENTALLY-CHALLENGED person who kept two homeless women, also psychologically disturbed, as sex slaves was jailed for seven years by a county court in south China’s Guangdong Province.
Zhang Yin, in his 50s, was found guilty of illegally imprisoning, raping and accidentally causing the death of one of the women, according to Wengyuan County People’s Court.
The court learnt that Zhang was born and raised in a poor family and survived on food wastes from the streets. He never married and thought no one would marry him. So he started targeting homeless women, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported.
During one Spring Festival, Zhang brought home a pregnant woman from Shaoguang City in Guangdong. He locked her up in his place and often had sex with her. In April 2010, the woman delivered a girl which was given to Zhang’s brother.
During this year’s Spring Festival, an acquaintance of Zhang sent him another woman. Zhang also kept her as a sex slave and kept her in another room.
But the woman died due to heart complications. Medico-legal exams showed she died of heart failure triggered by viral myocarditis.
Psychiatric tests revealed that Zhang was mentally handicapped. He was less than capable of realizing his act and thus received a lighter sentence.
The other woman, who was rescued, also suffered from severe mental disability and couldn’t protect herself against the sexual assaults.
The newspaper did not say when she was freed or when Zhang was caught.
