Kidnapped baby rejoins family

AN 11-month-old boy kidnapped by motorcyclists outside his home has reunited with his parents after being discovered alone in a nearby city in South China.

The baby, Mi Fan, was discovered crying alone on Monday at the river dam in Conghua area in Guangzhou City, Guangdong's capital, four days after he was taken. Police sent him back to his home in Foshan City's Shunde District early yesterday morning, today's Information Times reported.

The kidnappers are still at large.

The boy's father Mi Qingyou told the newspaper that the baby is healthy though thinner.

Foshan police offered a reward of 50,000 yuan (US$7,324) for tips leading to the discovery of the baby, setting up 12 checkpoints across the area and sending more than 200 officers on the hunt.
