Killed kindergarten kid's family compensated
THE family of the toddler whose mysterious death led to the detention of his kindergarten teacher in eastern China was offered 390,000 yuan (US$57,000) compensation after negotiations.
Two earlier negotiations over compensation for the death of the three-year-old between the parents and the kindergarten failed to reach a settlement, reported China News Service.
Teacher Liu Xiaolin allegedly hit Gao Chenxi's with a hard plastic bar and caused his death in Tiantian kindergarten in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province.
She was detained for criminal intentional injury by police the day the tragedy happened.
Liu hit Gao on the head as he was climbing on the window sill of his classroom, according to a police investigation into death.
While turning around to avoid being hit, Gao's cloths got hooked on the window and he fell from the sill.
It took more than 60 seconds to release Gao from the window, by which time he had been choked to death by his own collar, according to Chai Zeyue from the district Public Security Bureau.
Liu also lied about the boy's death. She told the boy's mother, who was also an employee of the kindergarten, that the boy was found dead in a closet, according to the police.
