Killer of four gets death sentence

A MAN was sentenced to death in Jieyang City, southern Guangdong Province today over killing a young couple in his home town province and shooting two policemen dead on his way of flee in the southern province.
The Jieyang Intermediate People's Court handed down the verdict to Hu Yihua, 29, a native of Zhejiang Province after convicting him of manslaughter and robbery.
The court also ruled Hu pay a total of 531,317.4 yuan (US$ 77,488.79) in compensations to the victims' relatives.
Hu robbed and killed a young couple in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province on July 2 , and then drove their car to flee to the southwestern border province of Yunnan.
When Hu was stopped for a routine check by two traffic policemen on a highway in Guangdong, he took out a gun and shot them to death. He then fled to Xiamen, southeastern Fujian Province, where he was caught.
