A man in Beijing today pled for "quick death" during his trial on the court after admitting killing six of his family members, including his wife and two sons.
In tears, the suspect Li Lei stood on trial over manslaughter at the Beijing No.2 Intermediate People's Court, reported Beijing Evening News today.
The court didn't hand down the verdict immediately. Li's lawyer Pan Zhidong said a death penalty is inevitable.
Li hacked his wife to death with a knife after a quarrel in their apartment in Beijing's Daxing District on November, 23 last year. He then went on a killing spree, manslaughtering his younger sister, his parents and two sons, who lived in the same apartment.
Li told judges on the court that the killing spree was blamed on "the gloom" that he was in that night. He denied he had benn planning the murder since 2008, which he confessed in previous testimony.
