Killing spree suspect arrested in north China

A man who allegedly killed nine people, including his wife, on Monday in Botou City, the northern Hebei Province, was detained yesterday, Xinhua news agency reported yesterday.

Qin Changcheng, 32, went on the killing spree because he suspected his wife had an extramarital affair, local police said.

Qin went to a car wash shop where his wife surnamed Qiu used to work and killed the owner. Then he was alleged to murder another eight people including Qiu, her relatives and other villagers.

Qin was seized by the police on yesterday's early morning.

The case is still under investigation.
