Kindergarten snubs official ban over venereal infection

AN unlicensed kindergarten in Zhuzhou, central Hunan Province ignored the official order for suspension after one of its students contracted a sexually transmitted disease at school.

The six-year-old girl was diagnosed of gonorrhea after her parents found blood and pus stains on her underwear, the local Sanxiang City Express reported today.

Because all her family members showed no infection of the venereal disease in their medical tests, they believed the girl was infected with the virus in the kindergarten, the report said.

The local education officials found the kindergarten opened last year without a license and all its staff workers obtained a health certificate and no one was tested positive of venereal diseases.

The kindergarten was ordered to suspend operation and cooperate with an official investigation, but it ignored the order, the report said.

The Hetang District Education Bureau has decided to appeal to the court to shut down the kindergarten by a court order, the report said.
