Kindergarten teacher allegedly used sharp objects to harm kids
EDUCATION officials and police reportedly protected a kindergarten in Sanhe City, Hebei Province, after two children claimed their teacher used sharp objects to hurt them.
A four-year-old boy nicknamed Xiaobao was found with five pinholes in his hip about one week ago. He said his teacher, surnamed Zhang, jabbed him with needles because he "didn't protect himself well when playing on the slide," China National Radio reported today.
After the mother posted the story online, a mother of another student at the kindergarten responded with a similar story. Xiaobao's classmate, nicknamed Momo, told his mother that Zhang cut his neck lightly for being disobedient, according to the report.
When parents talked to the kindergarten to uncover the truth, school officials were uncooperative and didn't offer complete video footage nor apologize, the report said. Zhang also denied she hurt the students.
The kindergarten insisted such incidents were just "surmised" by parents, the report said, citing the school's investigation report that was submitted to the district education bureau.
Police backed up the kindergarten. A police station chief surnamed Cao told the radio station: "No other evidence has shown up to prove Zhang harmed the children. To be honest, we can only hold suspicion."
District educational officials admitted they "could do nothing" and suggested parents turn to judicial departments, the report said.
