Knife Fears
A woman armed with a knife was subdued in Hangzhou yesterday, suspected of planning a children-center attack.
The suspect, carrying a butcher's knife, was seen trying to break into the Children's Palace about 10:50am, the Hangzhou-based City Express reported.
She was in her 30s and holding a knife, said a man who was taking his son for music lessons at the center. Police and security guards subdued her with Tasers.
China's top police authority, the state work safety watchdog and the Ministry of Education have increased school security nationwide after a string of fatal attacks against pupils.
